Adam Rapp’s DREAMS OF FLYING DREAMS OF FALLING

I always look forward in seeing an Adam Rapp play because he gives us unconventional plays, something different each time and something quirky and interesting. And on top of that, his scripts mostly requires a male actor to be in the nude. What a perfect combination!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Rapp’s latest to be presented by the excellent Atlantic Theater Company will satisfy my craving for another enjoyable evening in theater.

From the press release:

In this surreal new play, something is not right in the world. The sky is a strange color, and there are geese bombarding the Connecticut home of Sandra and Bertram Cabot.  DREAMS OF FLYING DREAMS OF FALLING lifts the veil on the lives of two wealthy American families, and shows us how even the most polished among us can behave like animals.

Betsy Aidem, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Reed Birney, Christine LahtiShane McRaeCotter Smith, and Katherine Waterston will star in the world premiere of Adam Rapp’s DREAMS OF FLYING DREAMS OF FALLING, directed by Neil Pepe.

DREAMS OF FLYING DREAMS OF FALLING will begin previews Tuesday, September 13, officially open Monday, October 3, and play a limited engagement through Sunday, October 30, 2011 off-Broadway at Classic Stage Company (136 East 13th Street).

P.S. Maybe Shane McRae will disrobe again…..
