From the press release:

World premiere play by David Grimm
Directed by Kate Whoriskey

with Nina Arianda, Tina Benko, Kathleen Chalfant, Michael Esper, Michael Goldsmith and Lucas Hall

Tony Award winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur, Midnight in Paris) returns to MTC as Heléna, a woman who has lost her husband in World War I, and with him, her financial security. Struggling to maintain her way of life, she reluctantly turns to the oldest profession. Heléna manages to separate her secret life from her public persona – that is until she crosses paths with a man who has the power to expose and ruin her.

David Grimm‘s witty and beautifully poetic new work also features Drama Desk Award winner and Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, Angels in America). Set as an enormous political tide is turning throughout Europe, TALES FROM RED VIENNA explores the effects of war on women, the circumstances that control their lives and the dreams that set them free.

From the Moderator: Rumor has it that the character of Bela Hoyas will have nudity. I believe Michael Esper is playing this role. Will he have the guts to show us his cock?

  1. NO NUDITY in Tales from Red Vienna, despite the audition notice of it being required of Michael Esper’s character. It’s especially puzzling since Esper had a lengthy scene in Tony Kushner’s Intelligent Homosexual…where he wore nothing but a pair of leave-little-to-the-imagination black boxer briefs. Ah, well. Guess it’s cold in Vienna this time of year. God know it is in New York.
