Martin Sherman’s Bent at the Mark Taper in Los Angeles is a must see! First of all, it is an important and spectacular play. Great performances here at the Mark Taper. And although the subject matter is serious (Holocaust’s treatment of gays), this performance is sexy and homoerotic.

The nudity is a rating 5:

The leads Patrick Heusinger and Charlie Hofheimer are shirtless for some scenes (pictured here) and they are lovely to look at. Also they change into striped jumpsuits with their backs to audience at one point. You can see their beautiful asses and if you sit all the way to the left (facing audience) you might get to see their goods. I am guessing, since I was sitting center.

Jake Shears (lead singer of Scissor Sister and openly gay) plays a drag queen and he changes from drag into men’s clothes at the end of his scene. Jake strips down to only tiny little lacy see-thru panties before he gets dressed. He is ripped and super sexy!

But the best part is Tom Berklund (picture in bathrobe). He enters stage about 10 minutes into the play fully naked and walks around stage for a minute or two. Full lighting. He is spectacular. Big muscle guy, but not too big, with a huge cut dick. I almost think he fluffed it a little bit. It was either really big or a semi.

Great play. Great production. Sexy and horrifying at the same time. A must if you are in LA.

  1. I was lucky to be in LA 2 weeks ago and saw the show. It was fantastic. The scene in act two
where the two characters make love without touching each other was the sexiest thing I ever
saw in a play. Tom Berklund’s nudity was great. I just wish his understudy, Jonathan Wright
was on. I’ve loved him since Spring Awakening. I was in the front row and I could reach right
out a squeeze Jake Shears cute little ass in his panties. An added treat was that Jack Falahee
from How to Get Away with Murder was in the audience. He was hot as hell.
