Midnight Theatricals, the production company behind his long-running Off-Broadway hit Afterglow presents another S. Asher Gelman play safeword. It is an exploration of power dynamics through BDSM and food.
The world premiere of safeword is on April 25 for a limited run scheduled through July 7 at The American Theatre of Actors (314 W 54 Street, NYC)
Cast includes Jimmy Brooks (A Clockwork Orange, Madame Secretary), Maybe Burke (The Deuce, Tales of The City), Joe Chisholm (Afterglow), and Traci Elaine Lee (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical).
In safeword., an unlikely meeting between New York City neighbors sparks the beginning of a new friendship among two couples. But secrets are rife, and after an incident in which everything is revealed, they must all come to grips with the pieces of themselves they keep most hidden.

Agreed. No nudity, or point. The woman is the only believable character/actor in the show.
Totally false advertisement on nudity. The play is overlong, it has an interesting theme, but (just like “Afterglow”) is sloppily executed… I would advise to stay away from it.
Saw the matinee today and have to agree with all of the above comments. Nearly two hours with no intermission, lots of wasted stage time between patches of dialogue that are repetitive, void of conflict and as drab as a soap opera. There’s no human emotion on display here, no sensuality and NO NUDITY.
